The Dog Ambassador Program pairs volunteers with an appropriate dog that has some behavioral issues that can be worked on to prepare them for adoption. Examples of behavioral issues are fear, reactivity, and bad manners.

Each ambassador works with Angels of Assisi’s dog trainer to create a treatment plan and goals for their dog
to prepare them not only for adoption, but for life in a home. While using reward-based training, ambassadors work with the same dog until adoption. Ambassadors are required to first go through the Fear Free Shelter program and must visit their dog at least every other day.
