Noodle update: Noodle spent his first night with h

Noodle update: Noodle spent his first night with his foster mom and is doing great. He is on crate rest while he recovers from surgery. Noodle was a bit scared as his anesthesia wore off, so his foster mom grabbed some extra blankets and spent the night on the floor next to him so he was comfortable. ❤️ We are so thankful this sweet boy is recovering in a loving home with lots of TLC. Stay tuned for more updates.

Noodle stole the hearts of our medical team today.

Noodle stole the hearts of our medical team today. This sweet boy was found as a stray and never reclaimed. Our friends at the Regional Center for Animal Care & Protection have been caring for him for the last few days. Today, he came in for his neuter procedure and to have his leg evaluated. The end of Noodle’s front leg was detached, and he was attempting to walk on the broken bone. We can’t even begin to imagine the pain this sweet boy was experiencing. When our medical team performed radiographs, it was determined that Noodle likely injured his leg as a very young puppy, and it was left to heal on its own. Our medical team decided that Noodle would have the best quality of life and be most comfortable with his leg amputated. Our surgeon performed the extensive surgery, and Noodle is starting to wake up from anesthesia with his new foster mom by his side. We are thankful that this boy is already so loved and has a wonderful mom to help him through his healing journey. Sweet Noodle has a long road to recovery. The @maddiesfund #OpenArmsChallenge starts in April, and we couldn't be more excited to participate! The goal is to break down barriers in the animal welfare community to increase inclusivity, provide a welcoming environment for all staff and community members, and keep pets with people when possible. We hope to make providing a loving home for adoptable animals in our community and around the nation more accessible and provide more resources to help animals stay in their loving homes. ❤️

Tiny Tot came in a few days ago. Her condition was

Tiny Tot came in a few days ago. Her condition was critical as she was barely moving and cold to the touch. Her body temperature and blood glucose were too low to read. Our medical team rushed to provide her with emergency medical care. Tiny Tot received subcutaneous fluids, dextrose, and antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection. We were able to raise her body temperature slowly, and she went home as a foster with a staff member so she could continue to receive around-the-clock care. Tiny Tot is only about four weeks old. When she arrived last week, she was .9 pounds; now, she is nearly 2 pounds. Tiny Tot is now more stable and getting lots of TLC in foster care. Being so small and young, she is still at risk and has a long road ahead, but we are so happy to see this sweet girl eating on her own and having more energy! Please send positive thoughts her way. ❤️

Rescue update: Flynn is one of the 29 cats who arr

Rescue update: Flynn is one of the 29 cats who arrived yesterday. Like the rest of his housemates, Flynn is very malnourished and extremely dehydrated. He also has a rodent ulcer on his lip. Flynn has received a steroid treatment to help with the ulcer and lots of TLC. In addition, Flynn has an upper respiratory infection that we have started him on antibiotics for and several lesions on his skin. He is a total cuddle bug; all he wants is love and attention. These sweet cats have a long way to go with their recovery process, but they are getting lots of TLC in the meantime. Stay tuned for more updates on these sweet cats, and consider donating to help with their ongoing care. ❤️

Rescue update: Sweet Ava is one of the 29 cats who arrived today. She has terrible wounds on her neck, and it's heartbreaking to see. These cats were abandoned and locked in the home for 10 days without food or water. We are listening to them crunch on their food now, and we hope they finally know they are safe. We are working on medical exams currently and will continue to post updates. ❤️
