Every year for Thanksgiving, our adoptable dogs ge Every year for Thanksgiving, our adoptable dogs get 'Thanksgiving Dinner.' We are so thankful for our wonderful staff and volunteers who try to make the holidays more enjoyable for our adoption center animals! ❤️ While the shelter isn't an ideal place to spend the holidays, our adoption center animals are family, and we try to make it as enjoyable as possible for them! The dogs loved their meals, putting a smile on everyone's face. These meals are made specifically for dogs so that they are safe. Remember, please don't feed your dog table scraps, as they could harm your pet. #thanksgiving #adoptashelterpet

Meet Huckleberry! Huckleberry came to us from our Meet Huckleberry! Huckleberry came to us from our recent rescue, where he spent the first 5 years of his life on a chain. You would never know it. He loves attention and has yet to meet someone he doesn't love. We are so proud of all the progress this sweet boy has made, and we know he has a loving family waiting for him. Could it be you? Meet Lyla and Maddie! This duo has been together f Meet Lyla and Maddie! This duo has been together for their entire life. Maddie is 12 years old and the mom of Lyla, who is 10 years old. They are lab mixes. They are so scared and confused about being in the shelter environment. Lyla and Maddie are completely potty trained and super well-behaved. They just want a loving family and a comfy couch to cuddle on. Their prior owner had health concerns and, unfortunately, could no longer care for Maddie and Lyla. They were adopted from us in 2014 and have been in the same home since, so we can only imagine how scary this is for them. Are you interested in adopting these girls? Lilo and Stitch are a perfect but unexpected duo! Lilo and Stitch are a perfect but unexpected duo! Stitch is 12 lbs, and Lilo is around 70 lbs! These brothers have had a hard last few months. Their prior family lost their housing and was unable to keep these cuties. They walk fabulously on a leash and love everyone they meet. They are crate trained, potty-trained, and love cuddling with their humans. Adventure buddies or cuddle buddies, they have you covered! ❤️ Are you interested in adopting this perfect pair? This afternoon we received 7 dogs from heart-wrenc This afternoon we received 7 dogs from heart-wrenching conditions. A local animal control agency pulled these dogs from a home where they lived outdoors in harsh conditions. These dogs are covered in fleas, ticks, and open wounds. They are scared, but we can see the hope in their eyes. We are so thankful they are now safe, and our medical team will get them the care they desperately need. Stay tuned for more updates. If you are looking for a new best friend, stop by to see us! Biscuit is another one of our lifesaving dogs! Earlier this week, we had a dog at our Community Pet Clinic needing a blood transfusion. Biscuit was the perfect candidate to be a blood donor. He was such a good boy and got lots of love and peanut butter afterward. Biscuit would love to find a family where he can be the center of someone's world. He's an easygoing guy and loves people. Are you in adopting Biscuit or another one of our incredible dogs? Rescue update: Yesterday, the last of the dogs fro Rescue update: Yesterday, the last of the dogs from the property were pulled to safety. Our medical team has assessed all of the dogs. Several had sores on their necks from living on chains. Many had tick-borne diseases and intestinal parasites. We are developing medical plans for each of them and getting them ready for loving homes. They are now warm, and we can start to see the hope in their eyes. They will take a bit to decompress and realize what it is like to be indoors, but we think they are starting to realize they are now safe. ❤️ Stay tuned for more updates. Our rescue team is currently working on a case whe Our rescue team is currently working on a case where 15 dogs were living in heart-wrenching conditions. The people are getting the help they need as well as the animals. These dogs have been chained up outside their entire lives with limited shelter and interaction. Our medical team is assessing the dogs as they have never had any medical care, and our rescue team is working on getting the rest of the dogs on the property to safety. They will all have a nice warm bed, fresh food and water, and lots of TLC as they acclimate to life indoors. Stay tuned for more updates. Our adoption center will be open until 6 pm today, so stop by and find your new family member! Adoptions are $50 today only! Sweet Luna is one of our adoptable dogs. Luna is full of love and energy. She is a 5-month-old husky mix and has unfortunately spent most of her puppyhood in the shelter. This sweet girl is a bit timid around kids, so she would do best in an adult-only home. Tony is one of the goofiest love bugs you have eve Tony is one of the goofiest love bugs you have ever seen. He loves everyone he meets and is super well-behaved. Tony was found as a stray a couple of weeks ago, and we just don't understand how no one reclaimed him. Tony does appear to have some allergies, so our medical team started him on an allergy shot to see if that improves his skin. If his skin gets itchy again, this might be something he will have to continue to receive; however, we promise he’ll repay you with the best hugs ever. Are you interested in adopting Tony? Little Bit and Cricket are the cutest brother and Little Bit and Cricket are the cutest brother and sister duo! Little Bit had a terrible eye infection which led to him having to have both his eyes removed; thankfully, he has the best sister, Cricket, to guide him. He has adjusted well! These two are 6 months old, and total love bugs. They have the softest coat; they love to cuddle and explore. Little Bit and Cricket are bonded and must go to a loving home together. It has been a challenging time for animals in our It has been a challenging time for animals in our community, and shelters across the region have been at capacity. Today, our friends at @the Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection reached out to us for help. They were completely full and had to make space for stray dogs. Our Adoption Center was able to take 11 dogs from the @Regional Center of Animal Care and Protection and help them avoid tough decisions. We are so thankful to our wonderful community for making our lifesaving work possible! These loving dogs are safe at our Adoption Center and now looking for loving homes to call their own. ❤️
Bandit truly saved a life today! A puppy came into Bandit truly saved a life today! A puppy came into our Community Pet Clinic in desperate need of a blood transfusion. When this happens, we need to find a donor dog fast! Bandit is one of our adoptable dogs, and we couldn't think of a better boy for the job! He was a good boy for our medical team and saved this puppy’s life. Bandit is only 2 years old, and he is one of our longest residents; we can't seem to figure out why. This good boy deserves a loving home to call his own. He has the biggest personality to match his big heart. ❤️ He absolutely loved the extra kisses and treats today but would undoubtedly be happier with a family of his own.
