Veterinary laser therapy is an innovative treatment which uses light waves to stimulate and activate cells promoting growth and repair.

Laser therapy is most useful for pets who cannot take medications due to disease, species, or age. Laser therapy may sound scary, but most sessions entail a quick 15 to 30 minute process starting at $15 to $35 which most pets seem to find relaxing. A handheld laser wand is moved slowly over a damaged area causing a warm and pleasant sensation. Laser therapy uses light to penetrate deep into the tissue as well as superficial tissue promoting healing by increased blood flow to the area and jump starting the cells. Most pets only need therapeutic laser treatments two to five times per week for a few weeks. Acute issues are treated on a daily basis but over a shorter period of time, while chronic conditions are treated less often but for a longer overall time frame.
